Agricultural Shows

The Royal Agricultural Show

Attracting over 160,000 visitors annually and 1,500 exhibitors, the Royal Show is rightly considered to be the country's most prestigious agricultural event of the year.

It provides a unique showcase for all aspects of farming and rural life, from the very best in British livestock to the latest business and technological innovations.

Although large numbers of livestock competitions and agri-business exhibits are still a central feature of the show there is a huge diversity of interests catered for. With the flower show, craft stands, food hall, equestrian events and arena displays going on continuously in the Grand Ring, there is without doubt something here for everybody.

Set on a 60-acre permanent site next to Stoneleigh Abbey in the very heart of England, the showground itself provides a wonderful backdrop to this animated and colourful event.

Whether you are conducting business or visiting merely for pleasure the Royal Show is an event not to be missed.

As recently appointed official travel and accommodation agent for the Royal Show, we would be happy to handle all your travel and accommodation enquiries.

The Paris Livestock and Machinery Shows

These two important shows, the premier events of the French agriculture calendar are held in late February/early March right in the heart of France's glamorous capital city. The machinery show (SIMA), one of Europe's largest, takes place every other year.

The traditional site of the livestock and food sector is the permanent exhibition halls of the Porte de Versailles on the south side of Paris. The amazing food hall has produce and wines from every region of the country and is one of the great sights and joys of the show. It is easy to spend all the day there if you are not careful.

The Verona Agricultural Fair

The foremost agricultural show of Italy is held annually in early March extending over 10 days. Both livestock and farm machinery feature strongly but the farm machinery is perhaps worthy of special mention. Held in the lovely city of Verona, with its famous amphitheatre (rivalling the Coliseum in Rome) the show has a wonderful setting. Excursions to nearby Venice and a look at farming in the rich agricultural region make the show the centrepiece of a stay in this interesting part of Italy.
