Of all the Eastern European countries, Poland was perhaps the most resistant to communist rule. During that era, there were many small family-run farms on small acreages. Today some of these remain, along with many large modern privatised farm estates. Located in central Europe, the country is characterised by lowland plains, which constitute the agricultural heartland, but it also has extensive mountain chains, freshwater lakes and forests.

Our tour starts with three nights in the superb city of Krakow, a highlight for any traveller to Poland. Journey into the agriculturally advanced area of Poznan, and conclude the tour in Warsaw, the nation’s capital. As a recently acceded EU member, this dynamic and interesting country is well worth a visit to see what its future role in Europe may be, in addition to enjoying its unique historical attractions and countryside.
